(Crescent rolls, marshmallows, butter, and
cinnamon-sugar teach us that indeed Jesus Christ has risen!) The Lord gave us the blueprint of His Word to
architect our family on Jesus Christ. Going
through the Bible with your family… Weekly
Scripture: Story: Application: Summary: Focus: Finding
Christ: Live
the Lesson: This
week we will learn about the resurrection first hand. First, have each child
take a crescent roll and lay it out flat. Tell them this represents the linen
cloths that will wrap up Jesus. Then take a marshmallow, we use the large
ones. The
marshmallow is Jesus taken down from the cross. Now anoint Him with oil and
spices by rolling Him in the butter and cinnamon-sugar. Wrap Him up in the
crescent roll linen wrappings and pinch and press all the seams together
carefully (so that the marshmallow does not ooze out) and place on a baking
sheet. Now put him in the tomb (the oven) and roll up the stone (close the
oven door) and bake according to the instructions on the crescent roll
package. Guard the tomb, but allow the children to watch that you do not get
into the oven. When the timer goes off, shake as if there is a great
earthquake and have the children run up to the tomb. Roll away the stone (open
the oven door) and pull out the baking sheet. Put one of the crescent rolls on
each child’s plate with them watching you the entire time. When
they break open or bit into the linen wrappings, they will not find Jesus (the
marshmallow) anymore. He has risen! And oh what a yummy treat!!! For
